Larger-than-life celebrity stylist and front-row fixture at fashion shows, June Ambrose has now landed herself a reality show - Styled By June. The premiere I never got to watch, but had a chance to watch her second episode last night (yay me). I've realized I have never mentioned who my inspirations were before and Miss Ambrose is DEFINATELY one of them.
Remember the black garbage bag Missy Elliott rocked in her video for “The Rain"? doesn't ring a bell? How about "Supa Dupa Fly” released in 1997? I remember being so mesmerized with the artwork and the look, that I saved up my money from my summer job and got the the album. Apart from shaping the style from her A-list to C-list clients, her personal style is also one to be definately recognized.
Check out some of her pics:

Iconoclasts much? |
Her style is not only Opulent it's Decadent and Distinguished. I am always the first to admit I love seeing Caribbean people that heavily influence - and Antiguan born June Ambrose does just that! Her influence is felt among pop culture.
June's influence spans globally. Her moniker is widely recognized from
the street corners of New York's Lower East Side to the catwalks of
Milan, and her fingerprint can be found in look books and on tear sheets
across the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. A highly revered creative force to be reckoned with, June is a veritable
one-woman fashion movement.
Styled By June is sure to be on the list of must-see TV for fashion aficionados. If you are Caribbean wave your flag, wherever you are ;).
Have a Chic and Happy Tuesday!
