Trend Forecast: These trends are staying

Designers have already supplied us with their ideas especially for the fashionistas who love to plan ahead. These include colour schemes, styles and material BUT for those who may have been worried that your wardrobe may look passé for next season, here are some trends that will be sticking around.

Jumpsuits (one of my favourites) have provided a laidback evening wear option. The Romper which have struck fear into many hearts (including mine), is now welcomed as the grown up version in the form of the Jumpsuit. For the young at heart, the revival of this style is not only chic but requires minimal accessories. This look can be worn by women of all ages accentuated with  the perfect belt and heels.

Peekaboo, sheers and a bit of Forties glamour, revolving around the pencil skirt with trousers as the new staple, are other trends here to stay. Speaking of which the Gatsby  look is one of the best ways to spice up your wardrobe. Accessories such as hats, bags, gloves and fur (for those who will be facing very cold weathers)  is perfect in achieving this look. My favourite looks were: Ciara at Kanye West's fashion show (Paris Fashion Week ,2011),  Evan Rachel Wood (TrueBlood) at the 'Ides of March' Premiere and Halle Berry at the Golden Globe, 2011.

Bold colour blocking and orange is really not for the timid. Although Orange is timely, I suggest you be careful with it. It's a cool colour when you stray away from a TOTAL orange look; beacause if not worn on the right skin tone, it could seem washed. Layering blocks of colour creates contrast in an ensemble, it could be neon, pastels or black and white graphic prints. Leopard prints in black and white, have also been seen popping up alot (remember Lil Wayne at the MTV Awards 2011 ). Leopard prints have made a come back and by the looks of bags, dresses, shoes etc it’s not going anywhere. So throw colour caution to the wind and be a burst of colour ;).

Fetish/Bondage which  I think is not for the faint of heart ;)...is a uber sexy trend that will be around for all those strong women, who don't mind expressing their style in a saucy way. With that hint of S&M, designers have given even the perfect lil lady the confidence to let their kink flags fly. The look is incorporated with latex, PVC and leather; these elements playing a starring role. I've also come to realize the trend is also apart of wedding dresses ( after OD'ing on  "Say yes to dress") it seems they are no boundaries for this trend.

So it would seem that Designers have now created looks to be selling by date of a whole 6 months, if not more. Dare I say welcome to the new classics. ;).
