Trend alert: To Fringe or not to Fringe: Angela Simmons....Hot or Not?

BTFL-PEOPLE
Over the weekend co-CEO of Pastry Shoes, Mizz Angela Simmons, posted a pic of herself revealing her new bang and this interesting bodycon blue fringed dress. I must admit the fringe trend was never really one of my favourites BUT out of all the trends its very forgiving on the silhouette. Its flirty and festive and there's something about fringe that suggests the wearer wants to have a good time. Designers have embraced the 1920's flapper style, creating styles from short fringe gowns to long fringe gowns with the wearer still being able to feel sexy, with slits that give a peek at sexy legs underneath. Luckily for most, this trend rarely goes out of style.

Fringe is very boho, taking cues from Western references (cowboys, cowgirls etc.), its not just appearing on skirts but near the neckline, shoulders and hips. Designs with shorter sheaths I must admit I like more, they are very cute and I'm a shortie teehee...so I think I could manage to rock that length ;).

Designers have gone fringe crazy, from jackets, blouses to accessories you name them...they-are-Fringed. Either way its worn, it's totally stylish when done in small doses which can be very cute! Designer price tags you cant afford? well dont fret; while high-end designers are embracing this trend, more wallet-friendly brands are manufacturing fringe in dresses, blouses and bags as well. Stores like PacSun, Urban Outfitters, H&M, American Apparrel and Forever 21 will cater to you.

Tip:  Fringe Bags: Just like every other style you have multiple style options, lots of color options too. Shades of brown or sometimes black or gray, is always basic for this style but some popular options seen on fringe-loving starlets include turquoise and leopard print. If you are not boho-chic but a rocker princess, look for a style with a buckle or studs to amp up your rocker chick factor.

Just remember, not to pile on too much fringe. If wearing a dress keep accessories simple. If wearing boots keep clothing simple and chic....Let your bag, dress, vests, jackets or boots  speak for itself.

So will you be Fringin'?
