The iCon that was and will forever be: Steven P. Jobs

"Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected"  those were the prophetic words of legendary co-founder and CEO Steven P. Jobs, otherwise known as Steve Jobs. The CEO of Apple Computer and of Pixar Animation Studios, pioneered and changed the way people think of the personal computer industry.

The college drop out started Apple in his parents garage when he was 20. Within 10 years Apple had grown from just Jobs and his partner Steve Wozniak into a $2 billion
company with over 4000 employees.

I was a fan of his (even though I'm not tech savvy but more of a begnner...I say that because I just got my first iPhone) and was impressed with how insightful and brilliant he was.

Apple plays a large part in electronic commerce market and boy was I over the moon when Apple launched an app for Fashion Week.

Fashion Week was celebrated and promoted with these fashion-related apps. The App Store section named 'Fashion: Apps for the Clothes -Minded'. contains 30+ iPhone and iPad apps (both paid and free apps).

It was organized in 4 different categories: 'Designers' where well-known firms such as Gucci and FENDI showcased their designs; 'Covering the Scene' you were able to buy fashion press-related applications; 'In Your Closet' you got a closer look at the latest fashion trends through apps like Teen Vogue and Vogue Stylist; 'Buy the Look' features apps to buy clothes and accessories online.

At a commencement speech in 2005 at Stanford University, Jobs gave a speech that proved that when all great gets into one arena, only ONE master will prevail. He remained very humbled and still maintained that mischievous twinkle in his eye, even though he was battling a life threatening disease. His hands on style and marketing genius will be felt continuously on all his products to come.

Steve Jobs is definately an iCon that will continue to posthumously garner success. My iPhone is one of my favourite 'accessories' and I now have the world in my hands ;).

A man whose passing the world came to know about on the same device he created. A genius never sleeps :).
