Gone with the wind Fabulous!

Do you think fearlessly with your inner fabulous?
Hey everyone! so this is going to be a lil break from my bloggie, as school and studying is high on my priority list right now.
So, have you been keeping up with reality TV? haven't as much (yes I do watch a few) and 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' is one that does not interest me...or shall I say does not entertain me anymore. Kenya Moore has been added as a new cast member and after setting the net ablaze with the catch phrase ‘I’m gone with the wind fabulous’, the newcomer is hoping to not only have a similar effect on the iTunes charts but be the star of the show...I suppose. Why talk about the happenings of those up there in the big A? Growing up, it was inculcated to admire and to never think anyone was better than I am; no matter their status or the weight of their bank account. After hearing about Mizz Moore's "performance"...for me; the facet of Moore - the Miss USA that broke barriers for other black women in the history of American pageants - that fearless young lady I once admired as a little girl growing up...will still remain admired. So, are you fearless?

If you have never watched 'Gone with the wind', it is a classic film that is worth watching. The act of going in the wind fabulously (or eat my dust as I fabulously exit), as is demonstrated by Kenya Moore, was based off that film and Scarlett O'hara was indeed fabulous and fearless - but not without flaws...and you know, the word fabulous has become a dead metaphor...sadly. In my opinion, the word has become emptied of its original meaning and it no longer denotes 'awe-inspiring'...But enough of what I think, although there are so many examples that could be given, as to why its also used in oxymoronic ways.

How do you conquer fear? In business or otherwise?

Self-doubt and self-destructive thoughts, are thoughts that sometimes loop through our brains. It is imperative to shake these negative thoughts, as one cannot go confidentially in the direction of their dreams - especially when riddled with fear and doubt. Changing perspective is better than giving into destructive thoughts. To change perspective, remind yourself of your purpose on this earth...follow your heart and place your focus on the positives. When fear rises inside of me, I visualize outcomes in a positive light. This is not a notion to which I mentally assent but have patiently made a living reality. Never be afraid of dreaming big, and hold that thought in your heart and mind. A positive outcome should be the reality you desire and be done to the best of your ability. Mastering this visualization technique, takes time! but it can be so helpful. Nelson Mandela once quoted Marianne Williamson in a brilliant speech, and those powerful words have always given me strength. May they do the same for you:

Now go out confidently and twirl, and twirl and twirl and twirl and twirl ;),
Happy Monday!, we'll hang soon.
xxo
